Pilot projects competition - Results Pilot Projects Competition - Selected Pilot Projects PILOT PROJECTS COMPETITION
Within the MED-ENEC Project, up to ten pilot projects shall demonstrate best practices and new technologies as well as integrative approaches for the efficient use of energy in the building sector of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries.
Thefore a competition was launched end of April 2006 addressed to the Mediterranean countries. Until 31st of July 2006 appropriate project initiatives, planned for realisation within the framework of the MED-ENEC project between September 2006 and September 2008, were asked to apply for support. The selected pilot projects were ideally to represent a balanced regional and national spreading, e.g. the participation of all 10 MEDA countries, as well as different building types (residential, commercial, administrative and office buildings, hotel, etc). The projects could be either the construction of new or retrofitting of existing buildings.
In August 2006 an evaluation committee has selected 10 pilot projects. The results are published here: read According to the order of the ranking list the awarding authority will offer the winning projects a contract to support the implementation of the pilot projects as well as the set up of a monitoring procedure, the documentation and the publication/dissemination of the achieved results. Depending on the size of the project and the evaluation result of the competition, the contract may cover costs up to a ceiling of approx. 100,000 EUR.
