Energy Audit Plan of Tunisia Assessed

Tunisia is facing the energy challenge: Its program ‘Audit Energétique sur Plan’ (AEP, a thermal performance assessment) is an important tool to improve the energy performance of buildings. It was now assessed by MED-ENEC, in support of the Tunisian National Energy Efficiency Agency (ANME). To improve the results of the Tunisian regulatory government framework, MED-ENEC made recommendations to increase the output of the program.

According to ANME it is obvious that the construction sector will have the greatest energy end-use consumption by 2030 latest, unless energy efficiency strategies are implemented. To increase the number of submitted building projects, the MED-ENEC assessment indicated measures to accompany the AEP program. Among others, incentive mechanisms and promotion schemes are proposed to encourage energy efficiency in the constructions sector.
